The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey is gravely concerned about the clashes in Egypt

4 February 2011

The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey is gravely concerned about the clashes that sparkled in Tahrir Square in Cairo on 2 February 2011.  The hope for human rights, democracy and the right to life are at stake in Egypt.

We would like to urge the government of Egypt that they should open the way to the peaceful transition of power which is the only solution to the facts that Egypt has been facing with for so many years. Otherwise the violence in the streets will spread and this government will also be responsible for new human rights violations.

Any attack on peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable and we strongly condemn it. The Human Rights Foundation of Turkey expresses its solidarity with the millions of protesters in Egypt who have been combating for human rights and democracy.

We call all the human rights organisations and defenders all over the world to support the rights of Egyptians.
